Wildbloom Festival Series - Product Design Case Study

$0.00

Tools & Methodologies: Wireframing, Interactive Prototyping, Material Design, User Flows, Information Architecture, MVP Planning, User-Centered Design

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Designing two interconnected digital products to modernize how a festival operates behind the scenes and how attendees experience it.

The Wildbloom Festival Series project explores the design of a connected digital ecosystem consisting of two distinct but complementary products: an internal administrative management platform and a consumer-facing festival attendee application.

Developed as part of Arizona State University's graduate-level GIT 520 course, this project simulates a professional agency-client engagement in which Sun Devil Design is tasked with modernizing Wildbloom's digital infrastructure.

The central design challenge extends beyond creating visually appealing interfaces. Wildbloom's existing content management process relies on manually coded website updates, requiring developer involvement whenever festival information changes. This creates operational inefficiencies, limits the organization's flexibility, and makes it difficult to maintain consistent information across digital channels.

The proposed solution introduces a centralized administrative tool that enables festival employees to independently manage event details, vendors, musical acts, and associated media. This information is intended to support both the future attendee application and the public-facing website.

The second product, a mobile attendee experience, translates that centralized information into an intuitive interface where festivalgoers can discover events, explore performers and vendors, and purchase tickets.

Together, these products illustrate how thoughtful UX/UI design can connect internal business operations with customer-facing experiences.

Wildbloom Festival Series | End-to-End Product Design, UX Strategy & Interactive Prototyping

The Wildbloom Festival Series project began with a complex operational challenge: the organization relied on developers to manually update festival information, creating inefficiencies in managing events, musical acts, vendors, and promotional content. Working from a simulated agency-client brief for Sun Devil Design, I approached this challenge from both a UX and product strategy perspective, helping translate business requirements into a connected digital ecosystem consisting of an internal administrative platform and a consumer-facing mobile application.

My responsibilities included analyzing the client's operational needs, defining essential minimum viable product (MVP) functionality, developing information architecture, and planning user flows for two distinct audiences.

I prioritized the administrative platform as the foundation of the ecosystem, ensuring that festival information could be centrally managed and eventually reused across the attendee application and public-facing website. This strategic approach demonstrates my ability to connect user-centered design with business objectives, product planning, and scalable digital experiences.

01 / Product Strategy & UX Architecture

For the Wildbloom administrative platform, I focused on designing a structured content-management experience that would allow festival employees to independently organize and maintain event information without relying on developers for routine updates. The proposed system needed to accommodate interconnected content, including festival schedules, performer profiles, vendor information, and associated imagery, while maintaining a clear and intuitive interface for employees managing multiple events.

Using Material Design principles, I approached wireframing and interactive prototyping with an emphasis on usability, consistency, and efficient workflows. My design responsibilities included organizing interface hierarchies, establishing navigation patterns, and considering how reusable content structures could support multiple digital products.

02 / Administrative Platform Design

For the Wildbloom Festival attendee application, I designed a high-fidelity mobile experience in Figma that combines expressive visual design with functional, user-centered interactions. I developed interconnected screens covering account registration, password validation, email verification, festival discovery, musical artist lineups, event features, ticket selection, shopping cart management, billing, payment processing, purchase confirmation, and digital ticket access. The interface incorporates a distinctive floral visual identity, burgundy accents, structured navigation, and consistent components to create a cohesive experience across the application.

Beyond individual screen design, I developed interactive prototype flows demonstrating how attendees would navigate the application from initial onboarding through ticket purchase and confirmation. I incorporated error states, form validation feedback, ticket quantity restrictions, alternative purchasing options, and post-purchase interactions to communicate realistic user scenarios. I also designed sponsor displays and future festival announcement screens to extend the experience beyond a single transaction. This work highlights my capabilities in mobile UX/UI design, interaction design, visual hierarchy, user journey development, and high-fidelity prototyping.
